What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in interior design from a CIDA-accredited program or equivalent preferred.
- 6-8 years progressive responsibility in hospitality or commercial design.
- Hospitality renovation experience is preferred
- Professional designation or other industry related certifications are a plus but not required.
- Exemplary writing and oral communication skills are required. This position is based on proficient communication skills.
- Familiarity with aspects of construction management, including construction terminology, a working knowledge of codes and life safety, construction documents, sequencing and an overall knowledge of project delivery "from concept to closeout.”
- Familiarity with reserve programs and philosophy, including an understanding of useful life expectations and value on a variety of interior and exterior components.
- Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Ability to lead, supervise and guide design teams throughout the project lifespan.
- Establish relationships with outsource design firms to provide dependable teams of qualified consultants. Evaluate and recommend existing and new consultants.
- Ability to interpret budgets and legal/contractual documentation.
- Experience of Revit or AutoCad is required.
- Proficient with Visual Software: Adobe Photoshop & InDesign
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite
- Specification writing software experience is desired
Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement.

As an integral member of a fast paced and flexible team, the Design Manager will be required to interface with designers, resort managers, HOA board members, operational leaders, project managers, the procurement team, internal department associates and vendors, and must possess exceptional presentation and communication skills.
How You'll Shine
- Oversee 3rd party Design firms/Designers and ensures project budget, timeline and scope intent are met with the expectation of up to 25 design projects at one time
- Prepare Requests for Proposals and actively bid multiple renovation projects simultaneously to outsource to Design Firms; holds these firms to WynD strict criteria of brand standards, quality, budget and timelines
- Reviews bids with management and make award recommendations
- Onboarding outsourced design firms for each project setting expectations for all stakeholders
- Conducts site visits of resorts with awarded design team, evaluate project scope, schedule and budget, meet with key stakeholders
- Manages weekly project reviews with outsourced designers to ensure projects run on schedule and stay within project scope and budget
- Participates in QA/QC meetings to ensure outside design firm is producing accurate documents for release to Project Management and Procurement Teams
- Responds to RFI's and review all project submittals in a timely manor
- Enforces brand standards
- The Design Manager may be required to manage their own Interior Design projects. This would include design services for planned resort renovations. Key responsibilities include concept design through construction documents and all related project specifications, space planning, furniture, fixture and finish selection, FF&E budget management, production of installation documents, and construction administration.
- The Strategic Development team services resorts in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Site visits will be required to assigned projects. (35% time). A passport will be necessary for international travel.

Compensation: $45.67 per hour
